Intro
When your baby is born, it's impossible to imagine just how quickly they'll change.
One day they're curled up peacefully in your arms, their tiny fingers wrapped around yours, and before you know it, they've outgrown their newborn clothes and are discovering the world around them.
The newborn stage is incredibly short (Apparently your newborn is no longer a newborn after 12 weeks) and it's often the smallest details that disappear the quickest.
As a newborn photographer in Nottingham, I know just how precious these early days are. That's why I love capturing not only your baby's beautiful face, but also all of those tiny details that you'll one day miss the most.
The Little Details You'll Never Want to Forget
-Tiny fingers wrapped around yours
-Soft little toes and wrinkly feet
-Long eyelashes and button noses
-Tiny yawns and sleepy stretches
-The way they fit perfectly in your arms
Those Tiny Hands Won't Stay tiny For Long
One of my favourite photographs to capture is your baby's tiny hand gently holding your finger.
It's such a simple image, but it says so much.
Before long, those tiny fingers will be reaching for toys, colouring pictures and eventually holding your hand as you walk together, or more likely pulling your hair out in many ways lol.
These little details change so quickly, and photographs help preserve them forever.
Don't Forget Their Little Feet
Those wrinkly little toes.
The tiny footprints.
The way their feet curl up while they sleep.
They're some of the sweetest details of the newborn stage, and they seem to grow almost overnight.
Close-up photographs of your baby's feet are often some of the images parents tell me they treasure most. I just can't help but photographing your babies feet, don't worry I don't have a foot obsession I just think babies little feet and toes are so so cute.
The Little Expressions That Make Them Them
Newborns may not smile on command, but they do have so many beautiful expressions.
-A tiny yawn.
-A sleepy stretch.
-A curious look.
-The way they scrunch up their nose.
These natural moments often become parents' favourite photographs because they capture your baby's personality exactly as they were in those first few weeks.
Your Hands Tell Part Of The Story Too
Newborn photography isn't just about your baby.
It's about the love and connection you already share.
Some of the most meaningful photographs are the simplest ones—your baby's head resting in your hands, tiny fingers wrapped around yours or a cuddle with mum and dad.
These photographs tell a story that words never could.
One day, your child will look back and see just how loved they were from the very beginning.
These Moments Pass Far Too Quickly
People often tell new parents to "soak it all in."
But when you're living on very little sleep and adjusting to life with a newborn, that's often easier said than done.
That's one of the reasons newborn photography is so special.
It allows you to slow down for a little while and preserve the moments that can so easily become a blur.
Long after the sleepless nights are forgotten, your photographs will bring you back to exactly how tiny your baby once was.
