My newborn photography sessions in Nottingham are designed to gently capture this stage exactly as it is — naturally, simply and without the pressure of everything having to be perfect.
From my cosy home studio in Newthorpe (NG16), I offer relaxed, baby-led newborn photography for families across Nottingham, Derby and the surrounding areas.
Whether your baby is sleepy, wide awake, wants feeding or simply needs lots of cuddles, we take the time to work around them.
Because your baby doesn't need to be perfect for beautiful photographs. They just need to be themselves.
My Natural and Timeless style
My approach to newborn photography is simple.
No bright props.
No complicated setups.
No forced poses.
No pressure for everything to look perfect.
Instead, I use soft neutral tones, natural light and simple styling to keep the focus where it belongs — on your baby and your family.

I want your session to feel simple from the moment you book.
Before your session
Once you've booked, you'll receive my welcome guide with everything you need to know before your newborn photoshoot.
I'll help you prepare for your session, including what to bring, what to expect and how to make the morning as relaxed as possible.
You don't need to worry about having everything perfect.
DURING YOUR SESSION
Your newborn session can last up to around three hours, giving us plenty of time to work at your baby's pace.
There is time for:
Feeding
Nappy changes
Cuddles
Settling
Baby-led photographs
Parent and sibling photographs
Beautiful little details
There is no need to rush.
AFTER YOUR SESSION
Once I've finished carefully editing your photographs, your private online gallery will be ready within approximately 3–4 weeks.
Your gallery will contain a beautiful collection of images in both colour and black and white, with options to purchase additional digital images and professional printed products.

When to Book Your Newborn Session
I recommend booking your newborn photography session during pregnancy, ideally after your 16-week scan.
This allows us to reserve a provisional date around your due date.
Of course, babies don't always arrive when expected!
That's why your newborn session date is flexible and can be moved if your baby arrives earlier or later than planned.
Newborn sessions are usually photographed during the first 7–21 days, when babies are often sleepier and naturally curled.
But if your baby is older than this, please don't worry.
It's never too late to capture these early memories, and my baby-led approach means we simply work with the stage your baby is at.

My home studio is based in Newthorpe (NG16), on the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire border.
It's a cosy, calm space designed with new mums, babies and families in mind.
You'll find soft neutral colours, natural light, comfortable surroundings and everything prepared ready for your arrival.
I want you to feel comfortable as soon as you walk through the door.
You can settle in, feed your baby, have a cuddle and take a breath while I gently guide you through your session.
My studio is conveniently located for families travelling from Nottingham, Derby, Hucknall, Ilkeston and surrounding Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire areas.

What happens if my baby won't sleep?
Don't worry! My sessions are baby-led, so we simply follow your baby's cues and allow plenty of time for feeds, cuddles and settling. Awake photographs can be just as beautiful as sleepy ones.
Do you use lots of props?
No. My style is natural, neutral and timeless. I keep the styling simple so the focus stays on your baby and your family's connection.
What should my baby wear?
I have a small collection of neutral newborn outfits, wraps and blankets available to use during your session, so you don't need to buy anything specially for your photographs.
